Ayuda extends a heartfelt congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on their decisive victory. And special congratulations to Vice President-elect Harris for shattering so many glass ceilings and becoming the first female, the first Black, and the first South Asian to assume the office of the Vice Presidency.

Today we embrace a new path of dignity, diversity, and decency. But now we must come together to begin our journey of recovery.

The road to recovery will not be easy, as the country continues to face a myriad of issues, from tackling COVID-19 to dismantling racial inequality and injustice. As some of the most marginalized members of our community, our clients are especially feeling the brunt of these issues.

At-risk prior to the COVID-19 emergency, our clients now face increased-risk for homelessness, food insecurity, and domestic violence, and will continue to be impacted well after the economy recovers and the health pandemic subsides.

Additionally, the intense volume and pace of changes to the immigration system that have marked the past four years will continue to have an impact on our client’s legal cases for years to come.

The work will be hard, but we stand by ready to fight as we have since 1973. We need you to join us in this fight.

We need you to help us continue to sustain and expand our services to meet the growing need for comprehensive legal, social and language access services, and in particular for vital services, such as access to food and emergency financial assistance.

So, while the fight is not over, we are hopefulWe are resilient and we will recover, together.

Join us this giving season in our call for unity in support our immigrant neighbors.
